BBBL
Below Black Body Line. When the spectrum of colors is on this line, colors are real colors and white is really white.

Candela (CD)
Candela (cd) is the luminous intensity and value of luminous flux in a specific direction. This value is suitable for comparing bundled light sources (reflector lamps).
CQS
Color Quality Scale. The CQS is considered the successor to CRI. The CQS has a number of improvements that make it an alternative to the CRI and a better measure of color quality. For example, when determining the CQS value, 15 reference colors are considered instead of 8 with CRI.
CRI
CRI stands for Color Rendering Index. The CRI is determined by comparing the rendering of 8 reference colors from the test source and a reference source. The value of this index can vary between 0 and 100. The value 100 means that the light from a given lamp reproduces colors as well as that of the reference light source.

Dimmability
Dimmability in lighting refers to the ability of a lighting system to control and adjust light output to different conditions or needs. This can be achieved by dimming or increasing the light source (such as an LED bulb), adjusting the amount of light emitted.
A dimmable lighting system offers benefits in terms of energy savings and ambience because it allows you to adjust the light intensity to the situation. For example, it can be dimmed in areas where little light is needed, or increased in areas where more light is needed.
There are several methods of dimming lights, including manual dimmers, digital dimmers, automatic lighting control systems and smart lighting systems that can be controlled via an app or voice command. It is important to check that light sources are compatible with the dimmer being used to avoid flickering or interference.
Dimmers
A dimmer is a device used to vary the brightness of a light source, such as a lamp. Using a dimmer, the user can adjust the intensity of the light from bright and bright to soft and dim. This can help set the mood of a room and can also help save energy.
Dimmers work by regulating the amount of current sent to the lamp. Traditional dimmers are often dials mounted on the wall that reduce the amount of current sent to the lamp. Other dimmers can be controlled by remote control or through a mobile app.
There are different types of dimmers available, such as phase-cut dimmers and phase-cut dimmers. Phase-cut dimmers work by reducing the voltage supplied to the lamp by interrupting the current at the point when the sine wave of the voltage is at its peak. Phase-cut dimmers, on the other hand, work by reducing the voltage at the beginning of the sine wave.
However, not all bulbs are suitable for use with a dimmer. Some lamps, such as fluorescent lamps, are not dimmable and may be damaged if used with a dimmer. It is therefore important to check whether a lamp is suitable for use with a dimmer before connecting it.
How many of our drivers fit on 1 dimmer? This depends on the maximum current the dimmer can provide on the 1 to 10 volt side. With our 6mA and 20mA drivers, that’s 60 to 200.

EIA
The EIA (Energy Investment Allowance) is a tax deduction scheme. The scheme offers direct financial benefit to entrepreneurs who invest in energy-saving business assets and renewable energy, including LED lighting.

Flicker
Flicker in LED lighting refers to the fluctuation of brightness that is not visible to the human eye. Flicker is caused by an irregular power supply to the LEDs. This can lead to visual fatigue, headaches and other health problems, especially with prolonged use of LED lighting.

GAI
Gamut Area Index. The gamut of colors created by a light source can be measured by the GAI. This index focuses on the relative separation of colors in an illuminated object. A higher GAI equates to more saturation and/or vividness of colors.
I
I-value
The IK value in lighting represents the impact or impact resistance of a fixture or light source. It indicates how well a device resists mechanical impact and is often used in lighting installed in public or industrial environments where robustness is important. The higher the number in this value, the more impact resistant the luminaire or light source.
IP value
IP ratings consist of two digits. First digit: Protection against ingress of objects and dust. Second digit: Protection against water. Our website includes: IP44: Splash-proof (suitable for around bath or shower) and IP65: Protected against water jets.
ISC
In the context of LED lighting, ISC is an abbreviation for “Inrush Current Limiter” or “inrush current limiter.” An inrush current limiter is an electronic component used to limit the peak current flowing through an LED lamp at power-up. This is especially important when designing LED lighting systems with multiple lamps, because turning on all the lamps at once can cause high peak current that can shorten component life.
Adding an ISC can reduce current and extend component life. This can also help prevent failures and malfunctions in the lighting system. However, using an ISC may increase the price of the LED lamps or lighting system because it is an additional component that must be installed.
K
Kelvin
Kelvin is a unit of temperature used to measure the color temperature of light sources, including LED lighting. In LED lighting, color temperature is an important parameter that affects the color rendition and atmosphere of the light. It indicates whether the light is warm or cool, and is measured on a scale from 1000 to 10000 Kelvin.
Light sources with a lower color temperature, such as 2700K to 3000K, produce a warm and cozy light, while light sources with a higher color temperature, such as 5000K to 6500K, produce a cooler and brighter light, similar to natural daylight. The right color temperature for LED lighting depends on the application and the desired atmosphere or functionality.

L and B value
L and B value. L90 indicates that at least 90% of the amount of light is available at the end of life, B10 indicates that this applies to 90% of the Led’s at a temperature of about 24°C.
Lumen
Lumen is a unit of measurement for the amount of light produced by a light source. It is the unit of luminous flux and represents the total amount of visible light emitted by a lamp.
Unlike wattage, which measures the electrical power consumed by a lamp, lumen measures the amount of light emitted by a lamp. The higher a bulb’s lumen count, the brighter the light will be.
When choosing lighting, it is important to look at the number of lumens produced because this is the actual amount of light emitted by the bulb. The number of lumens needed depends on the size of the room and the purpose of the lighting. For example, a small table lamp may suffice with a light output of 200-300 lumens, while a large living room may require a ceiling lamp with a light output of 1000-2000 lumens.

PF
Power factor is a measure of power efficiency for lighting systems. It is defined as the ratio of the actual power used by lighting to the apparent power provided by the power supply.
A power supply that has a low power factor uses more power than is needed to deliver the same actual power, resulting in higher power bills and lower efficiency. This can also lead to power overloads and electrical system failures.
In contrast, lighting systems with a high power factor have a more efficient power supply and consume less power to deliver the same actual output. This can lead to lower energy bills and increased system efficiency.
U
UGR
UGR stands for Unified Glare Rating and is a unit of measurement to assess glare caused by artificial lighting in work spaces. It is particularly important in office environments, where reducing glare can contribute to employee comfort and productivity.
The UGR value is calculated based on several factors, such as the brightness of the lighting, the reflection of surfaces in the room and the angle between the viewing direction and the direction of the lighting. The higher the UGR value, the greater the chance of glare and the more uncomfortable the lighting can be.
Certain UGR limits have been established for different types of workspaces and tasks. For example, for offices and other tasks requiring concentration, a UGR value of 19 or less is recommended, while for simple tasks such as warehouse work, a higher UGR value may be acceptable.
W
Wattage
Wattage in lighting refers to the amount of electrical power consumed by a lamp or fixture. Thus, wattage indicates how much energy a particular lighting source requires to operate and is expressed in watts (W).
The higher the wattage of a lamp, the more electrical energy is required to light the lamp and the higher the light output of the lamp can be. However, the wattage of a lamp is not the only factor that determines light output. Other factors such as light efficiency and light spectrum also affect the amount of light produced.
