The hole size includes the diameter of the recess in the ceiling or surface in which the fixture will be installed. This is also often specified separately as "saw size" or "drill size designation."
For the flange size, measure the largest width of the edge at the front of the fixture.
Recessed depth is the minimum space required to fully insert a recessed spotlight into a ceiling, wall or other surface.
The IP rating indicates how well a luminaire is protected against the ingress of solids (e.g., dust) and liquids (e.g., water). In lighting, the following IP values roughly apply: IP20: Suitable for indoor lighting in dry areas (such as living rooms or offices). IP44: Suitable for damp areas such as bathrooms or shelters. IP65: Suitable for outdoor lighting exposed to rain and dust (e.g., façade lighting). IP67: Suitable for lighting that can be temporarily submerged in water (e.g., pond lighting). IP68: Suitable for lighting that is used continuously under water (e.g., swimming pool lighting).
