VVV Wijk bij Duurstede
The renovation of the VVV Inspiration Point in Wijk bij Duurstede began in 2022. The renovation was a long and challenging process, but in January of this year the completely renewed VVV opened its doors to the public.
The beautiful Old Town Hall has been renovated with great care and is now an inspiring place where you can discover everything about the rich history, the most beautiful walking and cycling routes and the fun places of interest in the Kromme Rijn region. The Inspiration Point is staffed by 16 volunteers, in addition there are 18 city guides who last year made no less than 190 city walks.
The renovation
The renovation project was led by VVV manager Janneke van Loo: “This project was a huge challenge! For me, this was the first time I took on such a large project. I wanted to work with local parties as much as possible. One of our volunteers, Inge, used to work at Koopman and gave me the tip to stop by to see the lighting options. That’s how I ended up in the Interlight showroom. I really liked the personal contact and the approachability. We hesitated between black and white spotlights; no problem, we could quickly pick up some rail and spotlights to test what best suited the space. In the end we chose white Next spotlights. We are very happy with the end result; spacious and flexible. Above the counter we have a beautiful Orion fixture, pleasant work lighting that blends nicely into the space. “
