The smartest school in the Netherlands
Zone.college in Doetinchem wanted to become the smartest school in the Netherlands. They were looking for a lighting control system that could function as the backbone of their smart building. This project shows the scalability of our network: 1,300 luminaires form a complete wireless network!
The school was looking for lighting as well as an opaque network. The solution was found in Thinq, which combines both. In the general areas, separate sensors are combined with downlights, a cost-efficient choice. In the classrooms, fixtures with an integrated sensor were chosen for high coverage and maximum energy savings.
Easy commissioning
Commissioning Thinq is super easy. Using the app, fixtures are grouped and set up per fixture within 5 seconds. The built-in daylight sensors optimize the light by reducing the light output when enough daylight is present.Wire and battery-free wall switches are placed in each classroom so that attendees can select scenes and manually adjust light levels.
The so-called “corridor function” allows groups to be connected to the corridor. This ensures that the light in the corridor stays on as long as people are present in adjacent classrooms.
The system acts as the backbone for an array of smart lighting solutions that make the school’s processes even more efficient, such as occupancy analysis, air conditioning switching, indoor navigation and tracking of valuable equipment.
